Getting to know Wayne Glass
Wayne believes therapy serves as a catalyst for change, growth, and finding meaning and purpose in day-to-day life. He integrates holistic wellness-addressing mind, body, and spirit-into his practice and incorporates person-centered, identity-centric modalities. Wayne specializes in working with adults on LGBTQ+ issues, anxiety, depression, relationships, sleep, trauma-informed care, health and fitness integration, and supporting individuals navigating various personal and professional life transitions. He holds a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University's Teachers College and a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Iowa State University.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I have a genuine investment in the human-experience and care about the whole-person. Clients can anticipate a therapist who will work to meet an individual where they are at and help them get to where they want to go. I have 16 years of experience within the Fitness/Group Exercise space and work to integrate holistic wellness practices (i.e., mind, body, and spirit) in sessions. Furthermore, I utilize frameworks that include Psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed, and, if pertinent, Solution-Focused care.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I approach sessions with the hope of learning as much as clients are comfortable, willing, and able to share about their background and lived-experiences. We will co-create tools, strategies, and new behaviors/ways of thinking about past, present, and future trials and tribulations. Additionally, I am a direct communicator and will, within the appropriate scope of the therapeutic relationship, challenge clients and co-create different/healthier ways of navigating day-to-day life
