“I saw Yvette for 2.5 years and am so grateful for her helping me to understand my anxiety, process the situations that triggered my anxiety and recognizing that I’m not alone. I was very skeptical at first but wanted to commit to therapy and doing the work in between sessions. I’ve learned extremely valuable coping skills and tools such as journaling and breathing techniques that I still use today. If anyone is even considering getting help, I highly recommend giving therapy a try. You owe it to yourself and you are worth it. Thank you Yvette! I’m so grateful for getting to work with you.”

“When I met Yvette in the summer of 2020, I was a self centered, self loathing, and self destructive person. I had spent so much of my life trying to “save face”,or pretending that I was okay, when I wasn’t. I had no personal goals at the time. I had no confidence, no personal identity. My identity was based on who I thought people wanted me to be, even though that’s never who or what I wanted to be. It is now Winter of 2022. Yvette & I have wrapped up sessions for the remainder of the year, and sometimes it makes me laugh to think of how I behaved just a couple of years ago. Not because it’s funny, but because I was ill equipped at the time, and didn’t have or use the coping mechanisms that I do now. For the very first time in 38 years of life, I know, and I believe, that I am deserving of peace. I also understand, now, that I am responsible for creating, and maintaining it….no one else can do that for me. Yvette is very skilled in her craft. Her bedside manner is impeccable and appropriate to each topic, and I actually trust her. It seems like she adapts and reframes the conversation well based off of her clients’s history as well. I was a therapy drop out before Yvette. I have seen 5 other therapists in my life, and they all took the same approach…very didactic and somewhat juvenile, & I gave them maybe 5 sessions, tops, until I just quit. So, naturally, when I learned that I was being referred to a therapist, I kind of groaned to myself, thinking “okay cool. At least once a month I’m going to have to visit with someone, while they speak and I just sit and nod my head. I’ll eventually tell them everything is fine, not because it’s true, but bc I don’t feel comfortable with this person.” Well…. that doesn’t work with Yvette. She is an empathetic person, and even on days when I didn’t feel like talking, she was able to keep the conversation alive and productive. I’m grateful for that, because over the summer, she was able to help me piece together truths about myself & my past, that I had never thought about challenging before. Since then, it has been pretty smooth sailing for me. I have taken on new interests, new hobbies, expanded my support network, and I fully believe that I’m extremely capable of meeting the goals that I have for myself. I have kept my mind occupied when self doubt creeps in. I have learned that I am resilient, and my past traumas do not have to define who I am today. I will most certainly face more challenges and unexpected events in life, but I feel equipped to deal with them in a way that is healthier and more emotionally mature. I highly recommend Yvette to anyone who is grieving, or feels stuck in their life, for anyone who feels such deep sadness, but doesn’t really understand why it’s there. She’s helped me navigate a lot, & she’s been extremely patient. ”

Getting to know Yvette Robinson

Life brings its blessings and its challenges that are best met with thoughtfulness and compassion toward ourselves and those we cherish. In therapy, we can explore and focus on our individual strengths while building on the support from people in our lives during hard times, choices, and circumstances. Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, family dysfunction, intimacy, codependency, and addiction are the focus of my practice with adults, teens, and families. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University and a Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, which have equipped me to provide thoughtful and compassionate care.

Ms. Robinson was great with our family. She was always very responsive and supportive of our needs, especially when they changed. She also worked well with our different personalities. We appreciated the down to earth manner mixed with a good balance of clinical info. We are very thankful for all the guidance she provided and feel she was instrumental in getting us through some difficult times.
