I'm Zarna Shah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families of varying cultural backgrounds. I maintain a private practice in Garden City, NY. My office is a relaxed environment that promotes positive interaction where clients can achieve specific goals comfortably. With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, I specialize in Counseling, behavioral modification, EMDR, and cognitive behavioral modalities. A graduate of Adelphi University and New York University, I currently work as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Other areas of expertise include working with interpersonal relationship difficulties, communication breakdowns, and self-esteem issues. I have also been trained in Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy and utilize hypnosis for depression, self-confidence, and smoking cessation. As an interactive, compassionate, solution-focused therapist my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. Integrating complementary methodologies and techniques I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. My concentration is to help each individual build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you make an appointment with us expect to complete the necessary forms and meet with your therapist for a 50-60 min Initial session either virtually or in person. An intake evaluation is completed and you will know by the end of the session what pertinent issues will be addressed and how.
