Getting to know Gizeh Castro

My name is Gizeh Castro and I believe that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported just as they are. My purpose is to walk alongside children and teens as they discover their strengths and learn healthy ways to express their emotions. I'm passionate about helping children and teens navigate their emotions, develop confidence, and build meaningful connections with others. My approach is holistic and strength-based, focusing on the whole child - mind, body, and spirit. My work also honors the spiritual side of healing. I am open to exploring faith and spirituality with clients and families who wish to include that in their journey. In our work together, I create a safe and nurturing space where children can explore their feelings, find their voice, and grow into a more confident sense of self. I believe in meeting each client where they are and guiding them toward meaningful growth at their own pace. Outside of my work, I love traveling to visit friends and family, watching sporting events, enjoying movies, and exploring creative ways to recharge. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker and a proud Baylor University graduate, dedicated to helping children and families thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that there is no pressure to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is to create a space where children and teens can be themselves, feel accepted, and explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. I strive to make therapy engaging, supportive, and tailored to each individual's needs. Whether we are using play, creative expression, conversation, or coping skills, I focus on helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers to support lasting growth beyond the therapy room.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is focused on getting to know one another. I complete a biopsychosocial assessment (BPSS) to gain a full understanding of the client's background, strengths, concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, we identify what is most important to work on and create a treatment plan that feels realistic and meaningful. In ongoing sessions, we work toward those goals by exploring emotions, identifying patterns, building coping skills, and strengthening confidence. With children, therapy may involve play, creative activities, and other age-appropriate interventions, while teens may engage in more discussion-based therapy. Throughout the process, I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
