Getting to know Gizeh Castro

My name is Gizeh Castro, and I believe that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported just as they are. In addition to working with children and teens, I also support young adults and adults as they navigate transitions, relationships, and stressors that come with different stages of life. I’m passionate about helping clients work through relationship stressors, college and life transitions, changes in friendships, separation, grief, and other experiences that can make life feel overwhelming. I also help clients develop practical tools to communicate more effectively, understand their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and navigate challenging seasons with greater confidence. My approach is holistic and strength-based, focusing on the whole person. My work also honors the spiritual side of healing. I am open to exploring faith and spirituality with clients and families who wish to include that in their journey. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing, feel heard without judgment, and work toward meaningful growth at their own pace. For parents, I also provide support in navigating difficult family dynamics, particularly when children or teens are resistant, struggling to communicate, or need space to feel understood. I believe parents deserve support too, and I can help them find ways to strengthen connection, improve communication, and better understand their child’s needs. Outside of my work, I love traveling, watching sporting events, enjoying movies, and exploring creative ways to recharge. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker and a proud Baylor University graduate, dedicated to helping children, teens, adults, and families thrive. If you or your child are navigating a difficult transition, relationship stress, grief, college pressures, changes in friendships, family challenges, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of your next step, I invite you to reach out. :)

What should a new client know about working with you?

There is no pressure to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel heard and accepted without judgment, and explore what you are experiencing at your own pace. I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs rather than one-size-fits-all. Depending on your age, needs, and comfort level, sessions may include conversation, play, creative expression, or practical coping skills. I focus on helping clients better understand their emotions, recognize their strengths, build confidence, communicate more effectively, and develop healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on getting to know one another and understanding what brings you to therapy. I complete a biopsychosocial assessment (BPSS) to better understand your background, strengths, concerns, and goals. Together, we identify what feels most important to work on and create a treatment plan that is realistic and meaningful. From there, sessions are collaborative and can evolve based on your needs. Adults and young adults are encouraged to use therapy in whatever way feels most helpful, whether that means processing a specific concern, exploring relationships or life transitions, or simply having space to talk. I provide guidance and support when needed while allowing you to take the lead. With children and teens, sessions may include conversation, play, creative expression, or other age-appropriate activities. Throughout the process, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
