*Please note: Circle Medical is unable to see patients who are on a Medicaid or MediCal insurance plan, as it could result in you losing your insurance coverage. If after booking with us it is found that you have a plan that is part of Medicaid or MediCal, your appointment will be cancelled.* Diane is proud to be a member of Circle Medical, a digital-first, patient-focused experience that makes quality care more accessible than ever. Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider. Motivation for pursuing a career in medicine is rooted in a genuine desire to help others. I believe that listening attentively is one of the most valuable ways we can support individuals. While healthcare may not have the cure for every disease, it plays a crucial role in managing conditions and enhancing patients' quality of life. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of the primary care provider is to support and manage chronic illnesses, encompassing both physical and mental health. They coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary, ensuring comprehensive care. Primary care physicians are responsible for ordering baseline tests and either initiating treatment or providing definitive care. Patients should not have to wait for specialist consultations to receive a diagnosis or begin care. Primary care providers approach each patient holistically, considering the whole person rather than focusing on a single organ system. This includes addressing social, family, behavioral, and physical factors that influence overall health and well-being. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I have two children, two cats and two dogs. I have only one baby, which is my golden retriever puppy who keeps me on my toes. I am a member of local community theater group. I enjoy crafting, especially knitting.

Dr Sommer had a comprehensive appointment with me. Our meeting got abruptly cut off through the Circle Medical App and I was unable to get back on, call her, etc. She did send in a couple of my updated scripts to my pharmacy but I called her office, my insurance called her office about my other scrips and have not heard any response. I have no way to get in contact her without making a completely new appointment in which I will have a huge co-pay. This experience has been very frustrating. JK
