About Dr. Geetha Vedula
Dr. Geetha Vedula specializes in medical and surgical treatments for cataracts and glaucoma and is one of the few surgically trained glaucoma specialists in the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. Her advanced training is in minimally invasive techniques for glaucoma surgery.
Dr. Vedula completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at West Virginia University. She subsequently went to Hospital of Saint Raphael, Yale University for her internship, and University of Maryland for her residency. She earned her fellowship in glaucoma from the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where she remained as a faculty member educating residents after her fellowship.
In 2011, Dr. Vedula relocated to Florida. She currently holds clinical privileges at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital and serves as a faculty member at the Florida Atlantic University School of Medicine.

I have vision and health insurance. Dr. Vedula charged co-pay plus an additional charge for paying with a credit card. Then Doctor wanted to charge me an extra for eye glasses prescription. Needless to say I canceled & requested a refund, which they immediately handled.
I then went to Weston Eye Center where I learned my eye exam is fully covered with my plan, including eye glasses prescription. They can also look at my dry eye problem and prescribe the eye drops needed. all covered with my vision plan.
Ophthalmologist vs. Optometrist? unless you need an operation, go with the latter.
