“A Truly Life-Changing Therapist Working with Jennah has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. From the very first session, I could tell she wasn’t just going through the motions or reciting textbook responses!! she shows up as a real human being. Her insights are grounded, genuine, and often offer perspectives I hadn’t even considered. It never feels like I’m talking to a wall or being met with empty nods. She has a gift for making you feel safe, seen, and truly understood. There have been countless moments where something she said shifted the way I look at my own life, relationships, and challenges. Her presence is warm, open, and real, and that authenticity has made all the difference. I’m beyond grateful for the work we’ve done together and how much she’s helped me grow. If you’re looking for a therapist who offers more than surface-level support and real human connection to every session, Jennah is it. I can’t thank her enough! ”

Getting to know Jennah Childs

Hi, I’m Jennah, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Hope Matters Institute. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin's University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. With over 15 years of diverse experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, including individuals in crisis, couples, families, children, and teens.

What should a new client know about working with you?

By facilitating honest intellectual self-reflection and self-examination, clients gain insight into the underlying factors contributing to their psychological distress. I specialize in assisting individuals in resolving conflicts, processing trauma, and addressing repressed memories from early childhood experiences, enabling them to understand the impact of these experiences on their adult personality and behaviors. I place particular emphasis on the significance of early relationships, particularly with caregivers, and how these relationships influence one's personality development.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My primary focus is on guiding clients to develop the autonomy and tools necessary to effectively acknowledge, process, and gain perspective on their emotions. Through a collaborative approach, I help individuals identify and address problematic themes and relationship patterns that impact their lives.
