Dr. Juan Horta-Santini, MD, is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Surgeon. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Dr. Horta-Santini completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and his Glaucoma Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, New England Eye Center in Boston, MA. Professional, quick, and would definitely recommend. Last minute appointment for suspected pink eye. He checked out my eye, prescribed me a strong antibiotic, and did the follow up two weeks later.

He saved my eyes from eternal dryness! Wonderful and friendly doctor. The wait time for my first visit was a little long, but I would say it was a standard wait time for a doctor visit. He listened to my symptoms and concerns and within 2 weeks (and another follow up visit) my eyes felt so much better. I would definitely recommend going to him.

He pulled in a specialist to do additional testing, and together they made me feel incredibly comfortable and that I was in the right hands.

Dr Horta-Santini was very professional. He gave me a clear explanation of what was going on and was very reassuring. En route to see the Dr I was examined and tested by a couple of technicians who were also very professional and personable. I read reviews about long wait times but my experience was thorough and pleasant. I look forward to going back in 6 months to see Dr Horta-Santini.

Dr. Horta- Santini is a great doctor who makes you feel at ease with his upbeat and easygoing manner. Not only did he give me my diagnosis but he brightened up my day with his great personality. One suggestion to him would be to slow down his explanation of the diagnosis so that patients who are not familiar with anatomy of the eyes could understand more easily. However, overall, couldn't be a better doctor who seems to care a lot about his patients.
It's very busy practice so I would suggest to book an appointment as early in the day as possible. I had an ~8 AM appointment and my wait was around 15-30 minutes overall.

Dr. Horta-Santini took my vitals personally because his assistant was busy and he saw no need for me to wait when he was available. It is rare that a doctor considers patient time anymore, and for that I am very grateful.
He is also a happy and energetic person. Most doctors are so beat down by their patient load that they express no interest in individuals. Dr. Horta-Santini is a pleasant surprise.
