“I went for a comprehensive eye exam and it was indeed comprehensive. We did about 5 eye tests and then after the doctor seen me in which she asked thoughtful questions about my visit/concerns. They were met with informative answers and what I was paying for was explained thoroughly. Once on the phone and again in the office. I would recommend this office and would go here again.”

About Dr. Lori Rothman
Dr. Rothman received her Doctorate of Optometry in 1987 from the State University of New York College of Optometry where she graduated with honors. She completed an internship at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Northport, N.Y., receiving extensive training in the areas of ocular disease and low vision management. Prior to her current position at Manhattan Vision Associates, Dr. Rothman was in private practice for fifteen years in Westchester, N.Y. where she provided multidisciplinary eye care and contact lens specialty services. This innovative practice became one of the largest single-site contact practices in lower Westchester county. She has also developed expertise in the area of refractive laser surgery as an associate at TLC laser center in Manhattan where she co-managed a large number of LASIK patients. Most recently, Dr. Rothman has accepted the opportunity to organize and lead an independent eye care mission to Rwanda, where she will establish ongoing eye care at a Partners-In-Health (Gates/Clinton Foundation) clinic.

I’ve been coming to Manhattan Vision for nearly a decade and have had the pleasure of being under the care of the amazing Dr. Lori Rothman. I absolutely adore her—she’s thorough, attentive, and truly committed to monitoring my eye health, especially with my early signs of lattice degeneration. She’s always proactive in addressing any symptoms and making sure nothing goes overlooked.
The office itself is beautiful, spotless, and equipped with the latest technology for accurate and comprehensive eye exams. The front desk staff are consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming. While I usually opt for contacts, they also offer a great selection of prescription glasses if that’s more your style. I highly recommend Manhattan Vision—you’ll be in excellent hands!

Efficient office, clear communication about what you’re paying for.
My big criticism is that Dr. Rothman made some judgmental comments about how screen time was causing pretty much all my vision deterioration in recent years—views that are neither supported by the science nor other eye doctors I’ve consulted. (She also made this judgment without asking me how much I really look at screens, how far they are from my face, etc etc.)
It’s one thing to simply encourage better screen time hygiene among patients. It’s another to essentially suggest that they’re responsible for their own vision loss, especially when the science on this subject is less than conclusive.

Everything about my appointment was great. The office was clean and nice, check in was efficient, and Dr Rothman was very professional. Professional, smart, nice office with a nice arrangement of glasses. Equipment seems very modern as far as I can tell. Wait time to me is long though, waited close to an hour and had to come back some couple hrs later. Besides that, I had a good experience with Dr. Rothman.
