About Dr. Michael Grossman
Dr. Michael Grossman earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York, a major teaching center affiliated with Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Grossman pursued a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he studied the prevention, detection, and treatment of gynecologic cancer. He also received specialized training in high-risk pregnancy and infertility and studied gynecologic pathology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Grossman served as Chief of the OB/GYN Department at Lawrence General Hospital for over 10 years and is currently Chief of the OB/GYN Department at Holy Family Hospital and Medical Center.
Patients always see Dr. Grossman at their appointments, which is important for providing personalized attention and continuity of care. He typically sees patients the same day or next day for OB/GYN emergencies or newly confirmed pregnancies. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this Gynocologist. Everyone in the office and nurse practitioner in training was lovely. However, I had a bad experience with the Gynocologist himself. I did have concerns outside of routine and didn’t feel heard or respected. He wasn’t sensitive at all, was rude and seemed aggravated at what I was saying in expressing my concerns. After the initial consultation the exam itself was totally normal and he changed his attitude while doing so which was much appreciated. I’m not saying he’s bad at his job but if you have legitimate concerns that he didn’t diagnose you with, I would consider looking elsewhere.

I was pregnant and went in for my first ultrasound for my first pregnancy. The nurse took and ultrasound and said nothing but to put my pants on and wait in the office because the doctor might want to see me. I instantly knew something was wrong. The doctor did a terrible job explaining that the fetus was dead and I was confused and left wondering what to do or how to feel. He simply told me that the fetus was 6 weeks and no heartbeat could be found and I should be at 9 weeks but never mentioned that there could be a miscalculation of when I was ovulating. After doing my own research, it is extremely difficult to find a heartbeat at 6 weeks. This was never explained to me by the doctor he just told me that they were worried and then sat there and stared at me until I felt so uncomfortable that I just walked out. Extremely uncomfortable situation and not a way to tell an expecting mother that she has lost her child. The only recommendation I would ever make to anyone is to find a different doctor.

I am extremely grateful to Dr Grossman for delivering my first baby. I chose to do it in a natural way without epidural and he was very supportive in doing everything possible to help me have a natural birth. He was very attentive and kind during every one of my prenatal visits, making me feel comfortable and confident, answering list upon lists of questions and assuring me that everything will go well. Giving birth was just as I wanted, without epidural, oxytocin and tears during birth. I should mention that Dr. Grossman's shift was over by the time my baby was ready to be born; yet he still chose to stay longer so he could deliver my baby. My baby was very large (10.7lb) and his shoulder got stuck, but doctor Grossman was ready and quick to react and quickly released his shoulder without any damage to my baby or myself. He was always very attentive to all my questions and concerns and always professional. Thank you for everything! I can’t recommend Dr. Grossman enough! When I will get pregnant again, I would not even consider having any other doctor delivering my child! Thank you Dr. Grossman! Did I mention he has an amazingly supportive wife Rima, that is also an office manager and speaks Russian, so if Russian is your first language, this will be a dream come true for you!

Dr. Grossman is always very personable, very professional, and shows his concern with his follow-up questions about your health and well being. He takes the time to listen and discuss any concerns you may have. You never feel rushed. His new Physcian's Assistant, Joselyn was also great, very friendly and professional. "Dr.Michael" and his entire staff, from the nurses to the radiologist who performed a pelvic ultrasound for me,were all super-friendly,as well as totally professional.All my questions were happily answered,and it is very apparent that each was not only competent at their jobs,but truly enjoyed doing what they do!A pleasure to have this doctor and his office for what can be,at times a little embarrassing(Pun absolutely intended!Sorry,I could't resist,i had to take it!)I feel very lucky to have found this great group!Oh,and it is right off of rt.114,"easy-peasy"to find&get to.Also,you can always find parking,lot looks full,but count on a close to office spot!
