Recently, Dr. Gernt further expanded her expertise by earning certification in da Vinci robotic surgery, enhancing her ability to offer minimally invasive surgical options for her patients. Dr. Gernt has been an active leader at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where she has served in various roles, including Chief of Surgery, Vice Chief of Staff, and currently as a member of the Surgery Quality Committee. She also holds the position of Chairman of the Perinatal Committee, where she continues to advocate for high-quality care for expectant mothers. Originally from Jamestown, Tennessee, Dr. Gernt now resides in Cookeville with her husband, Gordon, and their son. Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Gernt enjoys watching her son play baseball, attending local community events, and spending time with family and friends. Her commitment to both her patients and her community reflects her deep-rooted passion for women’s health and well-being.
