About Dr. Valerie Curro

This provider only sees patients with in-network benefits or accepts cash-only payments. All other bookings are subject to cancellation. What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one? I was an international studies major in college, and medicine provided the intersection between a meaningful and challenging career with the ability to work abroad and help those who are underserved. What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty? I love how this specialty combines primary care, preventive medicine, and surgery. The breadth of OB/GYN allows me to care for a woman throughout her lifetime. How do you connect with your patients? Listening is the first step to connecting. From there, I take the time needed to explain the clinical situation and plan of care. What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)? I enjoy horseback riding, spending time with family and friends, playing mini-golf, and finding the best ice cream in town! What is your advice for your patients? Be proactive about your health. Try to maintain a healthy diet and exercise consistently. Don't neglect your mental health. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago. I completed my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, followed by an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stamford Hospital.

She was very personable and offered clear communication. I had some anxiety which I communicated and she was so understanding about that.
Doctor was very good - thorough and professional and friendly. Main issue was that I was told to wait in one area, and when my name was called from the other side of the waiting area, the Nurse/Tech walked away and didn't wait for me. When I got to where she had been she was no longer there and as I was looking for her - she then came out of one of the exam rooms. She was friendly but did not introduce herself or give her title. The wait time in the room before the doctor came was 20-30 minutes.
Highly recommend Dr. Curro! Always listens and takes her time to listen to concerns as well as brainstorm possible treatments/solutions with your best interest in mind.

I’m so happy I finally found a doctor that listen to my needs. She immediately scheduled me in for the things I needed for my health situation. Extremely happy with this doctor. Will be coming to her from now on! ?

Very friendly and professional place.
Verified patient
Dr Curro takes her time listening to you, and is reassuring and puts your mind at ease. She cared for me during pregnancy, and for after care and for a routine exam a year later, and was great for all experiences. She was going to deliver my baby, but we changed the section date, and I was just as happy with her colleague Dr Zedek who I had also been seeing, but was simultaneously disappointed it wasn’t her, although she did come and check on me in the hospital, and it was so nice to see a (masked) friendly face! She also spotted an irregular heartbeat, but was calm and not alarmist at all.

For being the first time I saw the Dr., she was great at being thorough. I will definitely try and book her specifically for my next visits.
Verified patient
The doctor was lovely but the nurse was unfriendly and unwelcoming. It made me so uncomfortable. However I would go back because the doctor was a great listener.
