What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve in the wrist becomes pinched. Affecting the narrow region of the wrist near the palm that protects hand nerves and finger tendons, this condition can be caused by the wrist’s anatomical structure, underlying health issues, or repetitive hand/wrist movement. Symptoms include numbness, pain, or tingling. If untreated, it can cause muscle weakness/damage. Carpal tunnel syndrome treatment can be recommended by a Primary Care Doctor or Hand Surgeon.
