Hello! In today’s uniquely challenging world, it is so important to prioritize giving yourself the space and time to feel, process, and understand your complex experience. Whatever your therapeutic goals, I’m so proud of you for taking a step towards fulfilling your needs – you deserve it! My name is Aastha Chouhan, a psychotherapist working primarily with adults. In our work together I hope to be a witness and a collaborator to support you in a way that meets you exactly where you are now.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have been trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy through the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, where I engaged in therapeutic treatment with adults and adolescents experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, intergenerational/cultural trauma, sexual trauma, relationship/communication skills, and more. Oftentimes these challenges can be overwhelming to face alone, and my goal is to create a safe, empathic space with you where we can unpack your experience in a way that is accessible and manageable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a strictly non-shaming, non-judgemental approach to mental health treatment – this is my primary therapeutic framework more so than any one school of thought. In this way, I hope to have the space, presence, and tools necessary for as many people as possible. I hope you find our work together warm, supportive, and joyful, and I look forward to witnessing you thrive.
