If you're looking for an affirming and empowering space to explore your emotions and identities, I'm here to help. My mission is to help you accept yourself exactly as you are while also giving you the coping skills you need to build a more meaningful life. I specialize in helping young adults embrace their identities, improve their relationships, regulate their emotions, and cope with the stress and anxiety of work and school. I'm especially passionate about working with chronically ill clients and LGBTQ+ clients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Lawrence, Kansas. In other words, I’m a therapist. I practice under the supervision of Gina Behm, LCPC-S. I have a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. Previously, I worked as a therapy intern at the DBT Center of Lawrence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is all about striking a balance between accepting you exactly as you are while also empowering you to grow and change. In practice, that means I'll offer a lot of validation and highlight your strengths and successes, AND I’ll also challenge you when needed and teach practical skills to help you move toward your goals. I incorporate strategies from evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) to help you build a life worth living.

For clients who do not have Blue Cross Blue Shield or Aetna insurance, I can generate something called a superbill. A superbill is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse you for all or part of your session fee.
