With this in mind, she co-established Chicago Wellness Center for Families in hopes to provide safe and affirming spaces which honor the stories that shape us and preserve heritage as the driving force in establishing health, healing, and wellbeing. Dr. McClain is a licensed professional clinical psychotherapist who specializes in early infant-parent psychotherapy, childhood development, parent-child relationships, maternal-paternal mental health, and family wellness. Dr. McClain has also received additional specialized training in trauma-informed care and multicultural psychology which are vital to youth wellness and family-based work. Dr. McClain sees children 0-17, families, experienced parents, those parents with new arrivals, and young adults (18-26 years of age) for both therapy and evaluations. They use a collaborative, multicultural, and relational approach to services that support social connectedness, empowerment, cultural pride, and wellness. Dr. McClain believes that these tenets are the necessary pillars for children and families to heal, grow, and feel rooted, while navigating an ever-changing world.
