Getting to know Abby Maitland

Neuroscience-informed training, healing, and growth are my specialties. I provide professional expertise in a warm and personal manner to maximize your experience and make the most of your investment in our time together. I tailor my approach to suit your needs, not the other way around. I am an advanced clinician in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), an advanced facilitator in the Nurtured Heart Approach and Core Curriculum on Childhood Trauma, and an EMDR Certified Clinician. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree from Antioch College.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide neuroscience informed virtual therapy, psycho-education, diagnostic assessments and coordinated care for individuals, families, groups and couples. I have extensive experience with children, families and adults with complex and developmental trauma and working within the Child Protective Services System, Juvenile Justice. and school systems.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Being "trauma informed" as a clinician means being curious and eager to understand your experiences and the impact. My goal is to build a foundation of safety thru our relational interactions while jointly developing strategies to implement in your daily life to build and enhance regulating, rewarding connections in your world.
