Getting to know Abe Zubarev

I work with male clients, specializing in men's issues, gay men's mental health, low self-esteem, loneliness, existential concerns, and autism. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, a Doctor of Health Science from Eastern Virginia Medical School, a DPS in Bioethics, Health Ethics and Policy from Albany Medical College, and an EdM from Harvard University. My goal is to offer high-quality teletherapy that is respectful, honest, supportive, and collaborative. I particularly help young adult and adult male clients who struggle with self-esteem, social difficulties, loneliness, and relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am not a passive or silent therapist who only listens; my role is to help create structure in our conversations and help you make sense of your goals and concerns.

I am currently an out-of-network provider and do not directly accept insurance. However, if you have a PPO, I have partnered with Mentaya to help my clients save money on therapy. If you qualify, Mentaya will handle your out-of-network claims and ensure insurance reimbursement. They charge a 5% processing fee per claim and have helped clients receive thousands of dollars back in reimbursements.
