Abigail Jung, LPC

Psychotherapist
4200 Euclid Ave, Ste 104, Rolling Meadows, IL
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and provisionally Registered Art Therapist at Mosaic Wholeness Center in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, specializing in the care of children and adolescents ages 4 to 18. Before joining Mosaic, I served as Clinical Coordinator for the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs at Streamwood Behavioral Hospital, where I worked alongside young people and families in some of their hardest moments. I bring that same steadiness, warmth, and clinical depth to every client I see. I work with children and teens navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional and behavioral challenges, and significant life disruptions. I also support families seeking continuity between home, school, and therapy, and young people stepping down from higher levels of care who need a strong next chapter. When it reflects a family's wishes, I am glad to integrate faith into the counseling process. My dual training in counseling and art therapy means I have a rich set of tools for clients who do not yet have words for what they are feeling. Sometimes a drawing says what a conversation cannot. Sessions available in person and virtually across Illinois.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If your child has never been to therapy before, or has had an experience that did not quite fit, I want you to know that I work hard to make this feel like a safe and welcoming place. I do not rush. I follow the child's lead and build the relationship first, because that is what makes everything else possible. I work closely with parents throughout the process. You are not dropping your child off and waiting. We are doing this together, and I will keep you informed and involved in a way that supports both your child and your family. My background in art therapy means sessions often look different from traditional talk therapy, especially with younger children. That is intentional. Play, drawing, and creative expression can open doors that conversation alone cannot.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session with a new child client typically involves meeting the family together. I want to hear from parents about what they are noticing, what has already been tried, and what they are hoping will change. With younger children especially, that context is essential before I begin building a relationship with the child directly. From there, early sessions focus on building trust and getting a clear picture of what the child is carrying. I use a combination of play-based and art-based approaches alongside more structured clinical tools, depending on the child's age, temperament, and needs. For adolescents, sessions feel more conversational while still drawing on creative modalities when they are helpful. As the work deepens, I stay in close communication with parents and, when appropriate, with schools or other providers. Progress in the therapy room should carry into everyday life, and I take that coordination seriously. Session frequency depends on the child's needs. Many clients start weekly, with the option to adjust as things stabilize.

More information on payments and coverage

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO plans. If you carry BCBS PPO coverage, your insurance may cover a significant portion of your sessions. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider ahead of time to understand your specific benefits, copay, and any deductible that may apply. Once you book your appointment, you will receive a call from Dr. Luis San Roman or from me to answer any questions you have and to walk you through the intake forms you will need to complete before your first session. That call is also a good time to ask anything about coverage, fees, or what to expect. Keeping your scheduled appointment is an important part of the therapeutic process, especially when working with children and adolescents, where consistency directly supports progress. If you need to reschedule, please do so as early as possible so we can find another time that works for your family. If you have questions about payment or coverage before booking, please do not hesitate to reach out. I want the practical side of getting started to feel as simple as possible so your family can focus on what matters most.
