What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about what is happening in their lives. Abigail recognizes that there is no single “right” way to heal, and she meets each client at their current stage of readiness. Her style is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Sessions may include exploring experiences and emotions, identifying unhelpful patterns, strengthening coping skills, setting realistic goals, and recognizing the strengths that can support progress. She incorporates client feedback throughout treatment so therapy remains aligned with what feels helpful and meaningful. Clients do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Whether you have a specific concern to address or simply know that something needs to change, Abigail will work with you to create a clear and supportive path forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session focuses on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. Abigail will discuss your current concerns, personal history, relationships, daily stressors, strengths, previous experiences with therapy, and goals. You will have time to ask questions and discuss what you hope to gain from treatment. Together, you will develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects your priorities. Ongoing sessions are tailored to your needs and may include supportive conversation, skill-building, reflection, problem-solving, and work toward specific goals. Therapy may draw from approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions when appropriate. Progress is reviewed regularly, and the treatment plan can be adjusted as your needs and goals evolve. Abigail’s goal is to help clients feel more equipped, confident, and supported in managing life’s challenges.
