Dr. Adam Lurie, PsyD

Dr. Adam Lurie, PsyD

Psychotherapist
213 W Institute Pl, Suite 500, Chicago, IL
I founded Lamplight Psychological Services to attempt to better address the mental healthcare needs of my community. I believe that when people are given empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, they can make a change and in turn improve their communities. I generally like to take an easy going and warm stance in my therapy and appreciate some humor when possible. Collaboration is important to me and I find that therapy is most successful when my patients set their own paths with my support. Whether you need more skills in your toolbelt or are trying to find meaning in a stressful world, I will be happy to assist you on your journey. I enjoy working with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds. I am committed to continuing my multicultural competence and staying curious when interacting with folks with different identities than my own. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal tension, psychosis, substance use, or trauma I believe that my training and skill set can support you in meeting your goals. In a clinical sense, I practice largely from a cognitive background using modalities such as ACT, CBT, CPT, DBT, and ERP. I find that these modalities help patients make progress and find peace between who they know themselves to be, who they are to others, and who they hope to become.
