“I have been through so much in my life and I have made terrible choices along the way, but having Adam Rivas, as my counselor, has legitimately turned my life around in a way I never imagined possible. The way I think and how I act is extremely different from my first session with him over a year ago. It’s actually amusing to think that when I first met Adam, I thought he was “mean”. Luckily, I was too afraid back then to make a phone call and ask for a new counselor, because after a few sessions I realized this man isn’t “mean”- he is simply super educated and extremely professional in his field of work. Adam wasn’t there to tell me what I wanted to hear; he was there to tell me what I needed to hear. Adam listens and is empathetic. He helped me learn how to change the way I think and act. The amount of knowledge I have taken away from our sessions is PRICELESS. The tools and advice that Adam has given to me allows me to be able to be the woman and mother I always desired to be.”

I’ve been in therapy for 10 years and I know now after knowing Adam since January. My previous therapist were no where near the caliber of Adam.Adam has stayed on point with not just alcohol but in a short time we’re already sure of why I binge drank. I’m 5 months sober and Adam helped me get there and I look forward to our Sincerely GWU. Thank you Adam
I have admit upfront that I had never spoken with a Professional Counselor before and I was a little apprehensive. But Adam pretty quickly put me at ease. He made me feel like it was a comfortable place to let down my guard and discuss issues that maybe I've just been trying to avoid or perhaps look at it in a different perspective. Adam's easy-going and relatable personality made me feel secure, that I wasn't being judged. I never felt like there was something "wrong" with me or that I was alone. I believe that is what really made it easier to be honest and make the most of the sessions and what makes a person want to come back and talk some more. Thanks Adam!
From day one I knew that Adam was the therapist for me. He is very down to earth and I feel comfortable speaking to Adam about anything. I look forward to continuing our meetings well into the years to come.
Adam has helped me tremendously. He is very easy to talk to and he gives very useful feedback. I recommend Adam to anyone and everyone seeking help. Thanks for what you do.
Adam was the first clinician to be able to break through my resistance and barriers to therapy. He was direct, but respectful and allowed me to feel like a person not just a patient. He was able to talk me in circles and lead me to my own truths for the first time. No one has been more influential in guiding me on a path of recovery, self discovery and wellness. I am eternally grateful !
I came into therapy looking for help. I received it. I received honest feedback, and it was real and blunt. I needed some tough love and direction. It clicked between us.
