Are you ready for meaningful change and lasting relief? Many of us strive to make changes in our lives but find ourselves lacking the necessary insight and skills to achieve them. As your therapist, my role is to help you gain deeper self-awareness and clearly define the challenges you face. We'll develop the skills you need to create real, lasting change in your life. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges related to mood disorders, social and generalized anxiety, romantic relationships, and parenting. My goal is to provide support and guidance as you work towards greater well-being and fulfillment. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches. In therapy with me, we work together to uncover and address negative habit patterns while building healthy, values-based alternatives. My approach is rooted in compassion, valuing your unique experiences and recognizing the cultural, familial, and historical influences that have shaped you. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’ve been practicing psychotherapy since 2009 and working in mental health since 2007. While I graduated at the top of my class, I’ve never relied solely on formal training. My commitment to continuous learning drew me to this profession, and through books, seminars, and most importantly, working with clients, I’ve found endless opportunities to grow. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’m here to explore your unique experience with curiosity and care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Curiosity and Discovery I pride myself on being an excellent interviewer—not just gathering information but helping you uncover what lies beneath the surface. Many of our beliefs quietly shape our perceptions and behaviors. Together, we’ll explore these beliefs with nonjudgmental curiosity and determine whether they serve you. Self-discovery is a powerful tool, and I’ll guide that journey with patience and insight. Judgment and Shame Shame often stems from early life experiences and can lead to defenses that persist into adulthood. Therapy provides a space to address these patterns without judgment. If shame arises in our sessions, we’ll view it as an opportunity for growth, working together to lessen its hold over your life. Honesty and Authenticity Radical honesty is essential in therapy—from both therapist and client. I respect the defenses you’ve developed and the pacing needed to approach vulnerable topics. Therapy works best when we’re both authentic, creating a safe environment for real growth. If you feel discomfort during our work, sharing it can lead to breakthroughs. Humor and Warmth I approach life and therapy with warmth and humor. Life can be absurd, and humor helps us navigate its complexities. My humor is never at your expense but arises from a shared sense of awe at life’s unpredictability. I strive to make therapy a safe and supportive space. Insight and Change While insight is powerful, lasting change requires action. Many habits formed in response to past challenges can be deeply ingrained. We’ll bridge the gap between insight and transformation, creating strategies that foster meaningful change. A Personalized Approach Every person is unique, and therapy should reflect that. I use evidence-based interventions tailored to your needs, adapting our approach as necessary. Your input is invaluable, and together we’ll craft a path toward growth.
