Getting to know Adela Stone

I'm a COUPLES specialist: I help partners reconnect, stop ineffective communication patterns, heal emotional wounds, and navigate mismatched values and desires. I also focus on NEURODIVERSE couples who may face unique challenges due to their different neurology. It is important to view a partnership through this biological lens rather than focusing solely on external conflicts. I believe any couple deserves the chance to rebuild their relationship and to both give and receive love. I have seen that with the right guidance, people have the inner resources they need to transform-both internally and in relationship.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I like to start with a free 20 min video consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. I make sure a couple gains insight into who they are as partners, of their roles and needs in the relationship cycle. Together, we work on connecting past events and upbringing with how those patterns show up today. Once we understand that, we can make changes in the dynamic to make the communication more effective. I also have a lot of resources for both neurodiverse and neurotypical couples.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will help you get on a more productive path where you and your partner can integrate new insights about yourselves as well as one another, and move past old wounds, mismatched sexual needs or communicating styles. I work with couples to heal their emotional wounds and any resentment that may have built up as a result of attachment injuries and ongoing disconnect. My couples reconnect by gaining insight into their dynamic which then enables them to make changes. I typically offer resources or homework as an extension of their work in session. I like to ask for a takeaway from each session.

I will be happy to provide a "Superbill" for you: it's a detailed invoice containing diagnostic codes and services provided that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you want to go this route, I encourage you to ask your insurance company if they cover out-of-network therapy from an LFMT, if they cover telehealth, couples therapy and how many sessions.
