Hi there, I'm Adriaka! Hello, I am Adriaka Jackson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana. I assist individuals in managing anxiety, stress, anger, depression, and drug/alcohol abuse. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Martin University, which equipped me with the skills to support clients effectively. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented talk therapy that helps individuals manage problems by recognizing and implementing positive changes in thought and behavior. I also use Motivational Interviewing, asking open-ended questions, using reflective listening, and affirmations to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings and identify their motivation for positive change. My focus I work with individuals seeking to manage anxiety, stress, anger, depression, and addiction. Many of my clients are eager to improve but may lack the tools or motivation to move forward. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their current situation and need guidance to process thoughts and feelings to become their best selves. My communication style I create a therapeutic bond by being friendly, warm, honest, and welcoming, making each session a comfortable and safe space. I remain sensitive to why each client sought help and build rapport by patiently allowing them time to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician, which sparked my passion for helping others and ultimately led me to mental health counseling.
