Dr. Agnes Zalesna, LCPC, PsyD

Psychotherapist
2101 S Arlington Hts Rd, Ste 116, Arlington Heights, IL
My clinical experiences have taught me to view human behavior and functioning from an integrative perspective. I see each patient as a “whole” with different moving parts that require acknowledgment and attention, and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. This philosophy guides both my psychological assessments and therapeutic work. I believe the catalyst for change varies from person to person, whether through recommendations in a psychological assessment report or through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I have a deep passion for psychological testing and believe it can provide clarity to many questions that might otherwise remain unanswered. My experience with assessments has shown me how profound gaining these insights can be. Psychological evaluation helps us better understand cognitive and emotional functioning, as well as areas of strength and growth. Often, this understanding extends to functioning in settings such as school and interpersonal relationships. I approach each patient presenting for assessment with a non-judgmental and empathic stance, ensuring they feel empowered and understood throughout the testing process. In my therapeutic work, I feel honored that clients allow me to assist them in improving their lives. My authentic and interactive approach emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship in facilitating personal growth. I maintain a supportive and goal-oriented style, empowering patients to explore and understand the sources of their distress while learning strategies to better cope with symptoms. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and Psychodynamic theories, using a collaborative, solution-focused approach offering both short- and long-term techniques tailored to each patient’s needs. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from National Louis University, which has enriched my clinical skills and theoretical foundation.
