Getting to know Ailsa Long

I believe we all have the desire for growth and to increase our positive outlook on life. I want to help my clients work through past traumas and challenges that still affect them, causing hurt and a feeling of being stuck. Therapy is an important investment you can make in your own life and happiness, especially with all the current stressors we face. I provide a safe space for you to express yourself, work through challenges, and gain perspective on what's needed for growth and positive change. I work mostly with adults and couples going through difficult stressors and life challenges. I specialize in helping clients with depression, trauma, anxiety, and grief. I also provide marital and couples counseling. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. If you are open and willing to work on growing within yourself to reach your highest potential, I'm the right therapist for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a very supportive and empathetic style but I can be directive if client needs this type of support too to help work towards their goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session I would do an intake assessment then follow up sessions would be booked after that.

I have been with alisa for a while now she has always heard my concerns and gave me a safe place to talk as well as work through my challenges!
Ailsa is amazing!! You are the priority when you meet with Ailsa. An amazing listener, when I have a question I get real world examples in the explanation. A truly awesome human being.
Ailsa is great to work with. She always listens with the intent to understand instead of the intent to respond, which I really appreciate. She is also great at breaking down the potential ways to redirect/reframe my thinking.
Ailsa had been nothing but a great therapist that helps with any and all issues ranging from anxiety, depression, relationships, etc. I am a 27 yo male figuring out my life/career, grappling with day to day struggles, and constantly bringing new topics into discussion with her. I get nothing but constructive feedback, the honest truth, and real tools to better whatever situations I’m grappling with. I leave every session with a sense of clarity of calmness. Highly recommended, seriously!!
I really enjoy talking with Ailsa. She continues to help me nearly every week and makes me feel like I am doing good even when I can't see it. I enjoy her care so much I moved on with her from the last practice she worked at to her own practice now! Thanks to Ailsa for being such a great therapist. Sometimes it can be hard to find the right person but she is great!
Ailsa is great! She really takes the time to get to know you and understand what’s on your mind and really helps work through it.
I have been seeing Ailsa for over a year. She is a great therapist. Some therapists I've seen before I've had to spend the first 10 minutes reminding them who I was and why I was there. Not Ailsa. She remembers me and my issues so we can jump right in. It's as if the previous session was 5 minutes ago. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
Ailsa has been my therapist for about 9 months now and she has been great to talk with. I was very nervous about trying therapy again after having a rough time with it as a kid, but we got my fears settled quickly and she understands my crazy complex family dynamic.
I have seen a few therapists, but no one has compared to Ailsa. She is honestly the best therapist I have ever had the privilege of seeing. I deal with ADHD, Anxiety, and dermatillomania. She has been the only therapist to actually help offer solid guidance and advice on how to address these issues. She has also helped me with understanding why I continue to deal with these things, which is something I have never really had before.
I have been seeing Ailsa for several years. She is caring, honest and offers practical strategies to navigate through life. I would highly recommend Ailsa as a therapist.
