Akila Hill, LMFT

Psychotherapist
500 W Lanier Ave, Ste 508, Fayetteville, GA
I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. While I work with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and trauma, I specialize in helping clients who are struggling with relationship challenges such as communication, sex and intimacy, passion and romance, trust, and commitment. Relationships are an essential part of our livelihood as human beings, and sometimes it can be challenging to maintain them with ourselves and others. To foster healthy relationships with others, we must first have a healthy relationship with ourselves. This process begins with understanding that we all come from different walks of life, which leads to differing perspectives and worldviews. Sometimes, the experiences we have been through can lead to emotional hardships that affect not only us but also our relationships with others. If you find yourself in a constant battle with yourself, your spouse, or others, you have come to the right place. Allow me to assist you in understanding concepts such as your attachment styles and early maladaptive schemas, and how these relate to how you connect with yourself and others. Together, we will develop strategies to help you set healthier boundaries, manage conflict, communicate effectively, and improve intimacy. I have training in relationship-focused therapies, including The Gottman Method. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. As your therapist, my goal is to help you restore your relationship with yourself and/or others. My initial plan is to build a therapeutic relationship with you and provide a space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered.
