Ever since he was young, Akiva knew he wanted a career that would make a difference in people's lives. This passion led him to study psychology and mental health, culminating in earning a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Yeshiva University. As a licensed Mental Health Counselor serving the greater New York and South Florida areas, he is deeply committed to the well-being of all his clients and goes above and beyond to meet their needs.
Akiva truly cares for each of his clients and works diligently to help them find the answers they seek. Since 2016, he has worked with a diverse range of clients facing unique life circumstances, which inspired him to specialize in working with children through play therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I'm a strong believer in working with children and teaching them to cope with their insecurities and issues while they are young in order to better equip them for life later on. The use of play is a gateway into understanding children and their needs. As Garry Landreth once said, "Toys are children’s words and play is their language.” In addition to my work with children, I enjoy educating and helping young and older adults who are faced with the challenges of anxiety, depression, OCD, and other mental health concerns.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
