Beyond Limits Mental Health & Wellness, LLC is a culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health practice dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families move beyond survival and toward greater emotional wellness, healing, and fulfillment.
Led by CEO and Clinical Director Akiva S. Harris, MS, LPC, Beyond Limits provides compassionate, high-quality mental health services through a diverse team of clinicians who understand the importance of culture, identity, lived experience, and creating a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood.
Our services include individual therapy, couples and family therapy, therapy for children and adolescents, trauma treatment, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and holistic wellness experiences including sound healing and group-based programming. We specialize in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, burnout, and the emotional demands that often accompany being the person everyone else depends on.
Beyond Limits Mental Health & Wellness is especially committed to increasing access to culturally responsive mental health care within Black, Brown, and historically underserved communities. We believe therapy should be more than simply managing symptoms—it should help people understand themselves, break unhealthy patterns, strengthen relationships, heal from past experiences, and create healthier lives for themselves and the generations that follow.

At Beyond Limits Mental Health & Wellness, we believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as your full self without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have to have everything figured out.
Our clinicians are warm, compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. We take time to understand not only what you are experiencing, but also the life experiences, relationships, culture, identities, and circumstances that have shaped you. Because we are a group practice, each of our therapists brings their own personality, clinical approach, and areas of expertise, allowing us to thoughtfully match clients with a clinician who fits their needs and goals.
You can expect therapy to be collaborative and purposeful. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some clients need a space to process and feel heard, while others benefit from more structure, practical strategies, accountability, or deeper trauma work. Your therapist will work with you to determine what is most helpful for you.
Most importantly, our goal is not simply to help you cope with what is happening today. We want to help you understand patterns, heal from experiences that continue to affect you, strengthen your relationships, and develop the tools to create meaningful and lasting change.
