Psychotherapist
AR
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas and have been for 11 years. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Arkansas University. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, open-mindedness, and collaboration. I enjoy working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjusting to life's ups and downs. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, aiming to provide interventions that best align with each client's unique needs. My foundation is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), complemented by person-centered and reality-based therapies. I firmly believe that a willingness to change is essential before making any life changes, along with a flexible plan to support that process. Thought patterns and distortions often play a significant role in our ability to implement these plans. I particularly enjoy working with clients who recognize the need for change but struggle with how to make it happen. My communication style is open-minded and nonjudgmental?I am rarely shocked or upset by what I hear. I respect each person's right to live their life as they choose. While I can be direct in a therapeutic way, I do not see myself as the expert on anyone else's life. I believe in building a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect and teamwork to improve areas of an individual's life. Clients can expect to feel supported and understood when working with me. My journey into mental healthcare began as a young teenager, inspired by the counselors who helped me through difficult times in my childhood. I have always been committed to lifelong learning, and this field offers endless opportunities to grow and help others. My goal is to provide a safe space where people feel comfortable talking about anything they need and know they will be truly heard.
