My name is Alana Nelson-Patnaude LCSW. I am the founder, owner, and Clinical Director of A Better Life Counseling & Life Coaching Center. I've been a Licensed Psychotherapist in the State of Florida since 1994. Helping people is my passion. I specialize in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Counseling Services, as well as Life & Relationship Coaching . I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 1988 and received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Barry University in 1990. I've worked in the field at Imperial Point Hospital, HealthSouth, Cross Creek School, Holy Cross Hospital & Medical Center, Family Service Agency, Florida Family Care, and a number of other county & private facilities over the past 30 years, gaining knowledge & expertise. Additionally, I am also a Certified Life Coach, a Qualified Florida Supervisor for Masters level Mental health & Masters level Social Work graduates seeking their Florida State Licensure, as well as a Qualified Broward County Provider of the 4-hour Pre-marital Preparatory Course. My Mission: When I opened A Better Life Counseling & Life Coaching Center, my simple vision was, and always has been, to help as many people as I can. There are so many people struggling in their lives. I absolutely love what I do, because I get to join my clients and help them on their journey through life, helping them live the lives they'd always dreamed of. Nothing can replace watching a client come to a realization or insight that helps them grow and become stronger, or seeing a client develop, learn and incorporate new coping techniques that help them reduce negative symptoms and improve the quality of their life in a myriad of ways. Nothing can replace seeing the joy on one of my client's faces as they face their fears and experience success in life.
