Alanna Boyd, LPC

Psychotherapist
AZ
I have over 16 years of experience treating adults in a variety of settings, including community mental health, integrated care teams, and sexual assault centers. I have a strong passion for helping clients recover from various types of trauma. In working with my clients, I start by establishing a good foundation of trust so that you feel comfortable. I focus on healing at all levels, frequently beginning with coping skills for some quick relief. Progress in therapy looks like fewer struggles with day-to-day tasks and a greater sense of well-being. I sometimes assign homework, but this is not always the case. I most commonly work with women, women of color, and people with physical disabilities (I am a wheelchair user). My specialties are trauma and resiliency, and I work with survivors of all types of trauma. I hold a Master’s in Art Therapy from the University of Iowa College of Public Health. Welcome to the change you’ve been seeking. Have you been contemplating therapy for some time now? Are you grappling with a desire to deepen your self-awareness and understanding? Have you begun to recognize that certain past challenges have left a lasting impact on you? Are you eager to break free from generational patterns and pave the way for positive change? My specialties include anxiety, disability adjustment issues, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, self-esteem, and recovery from sexual assault. Embarking on the therapeutic journey can be daunting, especially when faced with a whirlwind of unfamiliar emotions. In my practice, I prioritize your comfort and empowerment. I firmly believe that you, the client, should lead the therapeutic process, ensuring a sense of safety and ownership in your healing journey.
