Psychotherapist
OR
My name is Alanna Lynem, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Key West, Florida, serving clients in Oregon via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I work with young adults, adults, couples, and families, specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, relational dynamics, co-occurring disorders, and trauma. I draw from an array of modalities tailored to each client's needs. My goal is to create a space where mutual understanding, self-exploration, and self-love can occur. My approach is collaborative, working closely with each client or couple to assess needs and define goals. It is trauma-informed and personalized to fit individual circumstances. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, as these modalities allow me to gain a deeper understanding of my clients' life experiences. I have experience working with all ages, including families and couples, but currently focus on young adults, adults, families, and couples. Since I offer therapy exclusively via telehealth, I believe therapy with younger children is most effective in person. I strive to create an environment that fosters peace and tranquility. My communication style centers on listening to understand and responding honestly, with curiosity and compassion. When working with couples, I guide each individual to have space for self-expression while also holding space for their partner. I often assign homework to help clients implement tools and strategies learned in sessions into their everyday lives. My journey to mental healthcare began after working as an Early Childhood Educator. That experience taught me how crucial early years are and how certain experiences during that time can leave lasting imprints on our adult lives.
