Need to talk, unburden yourself? Much has happened to us in the past two plus years. If you are reading this, you are taking a step toward problem solving and addressing your personal difficulties. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist with 25 years of experience in outpatient clinics and inpatient and outpatient hospital practice settings. I have worked with those suffering from anxiety problems, depression, mood swings, fears, phobias, relationship difficulties, addictions, personality disorders, and survivors of traumatic events. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Yeshiva University, Wurzweiler School of Social Work, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice from New York University, and a Bachelor’s degree from City University of New York, Brooklyn College.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Psychotherapy is a focused, purposed, exploratory conversation with someone you enjoy talking to. Together we can explore how you experience the world and allow you to find new and creative ways of functioning. I can help you acknowledge, experience and cope with the realities of life, with all its pleasures and sometimes heartbreaks. Let me Help you become a more effective person. The intake process involves the taking of a full history of the client to understand the person and the presenting problem. Also, it will enable me to determine if I can help and create a therapeutic relationship that will lead to growth and healing. Progress can be in many forms, depending on the client and the problems being addressed. Some examples can include the lowering of anxiety, better sleep, the alleviation of depressed moods, less irritability, improved functioning, an increased feeling of contentment in one’s life in the world, comfort in one’s body and fewer feelings of isolation, and more harmonious relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.
