Alejandra Alvarado, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, my name is Alejandra, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT - 144921) practicing in Southern California. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from California Baptist University. I have worked in various settings, including Community Mental Health and the private sector, supporting teens, adults, and families as they overcome challenges such as Intensive Trauma, Depression, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, and ADHD, to name a few. I truly enjoy taking a person-centered approach and collaborating with my patients to reach their desired goals while identifying the most appropriate modality to treat them, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic, or Narrative therapy. My approach to therapy varies depending on the individual and their current needs. I often gravitate toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or a Psychodynamic approach to help uncover underlying issues. Both modalities allow me to gain deeper insight into the individual’s experience and empower clients to choose the goals and direction they want to pursue. I have found that my approach connects best with adults, families, couples, and teens, supporting them as they navigate some of life’s most challenging aspects. These challenges often include Anxiety, Depression, Relational Issues, Trauma, Panic Disorders, and Family Conflict. My communication style is open and warm. To provide the best care, I strive to listen deeply and create a safe, empathetic space where clients can unwind. I pride myself on listening to understand, not just to reply. My journey to becoming a therapist began early in life, as I have always been a “helper.” In my youth, I was often found lending a hand to neighbors, friends, or participating in community events. Step by step, I realized it was only natural to pursue this path professionally.
