Hi, my name is Alejandra Turpin. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health profession. I am currently based in Orange County and licensed in California. I am a bilingual therapist who works with adults and older adults. I specialize in anxiety, stress, addiction, recovery, and caregivers. I focus on techniques to help you understand thoughts and behaviors, find your strengths, and motivate you for change. I aim to provide support to my clients, create a safe space to guide them, and encourage change. My approach to therapy utilizes modalities such as Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am a good fit for those experiencing anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I work with these individuals to develop understanding and learn necessary tools for change. I have experience working with individuals and groups and am well versed in therapeutic techniques supporting caregivers, those with cognitive impairment, Dementia/Alzheimer's, and substance recovery as a certified addiction specialist. My communication style is understanding, calm, and easy to talk to. My priority is to create a space for you to be heard and to feel safe without judgment. I received my Master's in Social Work from California State University Long Beach and was licensed shortly thereafter. I began my career as a substance use counselor working with inpatient and outpatient programs. I continue working in a mobile mental health program focused on the homeless population, a job I enjoy that validates my passion for providing therapy. I love working with adults and older adults and continue to learn about different populations. I encourage the process of understanding oneself through the ever-changing life journey.
