Getting to know Aleta Farmer

Hello, I'm ALETA, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience in various settings, including community and state agencies, private practice, outpatient, and hospital environments. I've had the privilege of working with individuals across their lifespans, from young children to older adults. Currently, I am licensed in both Georgia and Texas. I hold a Master's in Professional Counseling and a postgraduate education in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, I am a board-certified National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in Georgia. As an entrepreneur, I take great joy in working with people from all walks of life. My passion lies in selective mental health areas, and I have extensive experience working with clients dealing with a variety of mental health diagnoses, mood disorders, career and life changes, anxiety, self-esteem issues, stress and anger management, substance abuse, relationship issues, women's issues, and caregiver concerns. I employ a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Brief Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. My approach in counseling is to identify thoughts and unhealthy coping mechanisms that create pain and suffering and to guide clients towards effective actions that foster a healthy and meaningful life. I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I constantly utilize eclectic methods to meet the unique needs of each client. I welcome the opportunity to assist you on your mental health journey. Therapy is a significant step and may bring about some level of discomfort, but it is through these uncomfortable situations that change can occur. If you are ready or even considering taking this step, I am excited to begin working with you!
