Getting to know Alex Urrutia

I have worked in several areas of mental health care and have truly found my purpose and passion in assisting those who struggle with trauma and addiction. I understand how trauma can become locked within the psyche, leaving individuals feeling stuck within themselves. I also recognize that addiction often serves as a temporary solution, providing relief while masking deeper underlying issues. My goal for each client is to help them recognize their own strengths and abilities so they may begin or continue to live meaningful lives. I provide EMDR therapy as well as several other therapeutic modalities to support each client in reaching a level of success and satisfaction. I understand there can be fear in beginning this process and in finding the right therapist, and I hope that reaching out to me?even if you do not choose to work with me?helps to diminish that fear. Everyone deserves to get the help they need. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, effective care.
