Alexander Osterman, LPC

Psychotherapist
CT
I work with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, avoidant, or tired of repeating the same patterns despite knowing better. Many of my clients are adults, young adults, and men navigating identity questions, relationship struggles, life transitions, low motivation, anger, depression, or the pressure of becoming more responsible. My approach is direct, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should offer both insight and movement. We will work to understand the deeper patterns behind your struggles, while also focusing on structure, boundaries, emotional regulation, responsibility, and concrete steps toward change. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, existential therapy, solution-focused therapy, Stoic philosophy, and Jungian concepts such as identity, shadow, and individuation. Clients often describe me as calm, honest, direct, and engaged. I am not a passive therapist who simply nods along, but I also do not believe in shaming people into change. My goal is to help you face yourself with clarity and dignity, develop greater agency, and build a life that feels more honest, capable, and aligned. Outside of therapy, I value fitness, reading, writing, fatherhood, philosophy, and time with my family. These parts of my life shape how I understand growth: not as something abstract, but as something built through repeated action, honesty, and commitment over time.
