“I absolutely love my therapist Alex. He tells me what I need to hear, never a yes man! It’s not a one sided conversation, ever! I wanted a male therapist so I could see both sides. It took me a week to find him and a couple of days for an appointment. If I had to do it over, I would pick the exact same therapist all again. Therapy has become an important part of my life. Had I understood the impact of therapy when you’re a product of chaos and trauma, I would’ve started sooner. I highly recommend checking out this office!”

What should a new client know about working with you?

At Jumpstart 2 Recovery, I take a client-centered, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy. I believe healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and empowered—so from day one, I aim to create a space where you can be fully yourself, free of judgment. My style is both structured and flexible. I specialize in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Brainspotting. These modalities help us not just talk about what’s going on, but actively work toward lasting change—emotionally, behaviorally, and relationally. I focus heavily on building insight, self-compassion, and practical skills. Whether you’re navigating addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, we’ll work together to understand the “why” behind your patterns and the “how” to create new ones. You can expect me to be real, down-to-earth, and invested in your growth. I’ll challenge you when needed, celebrate your wins, and help you stay accountable to the life and healing you’re working toward. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all—your treatment plan will be tailored to your needs, strengths, and goals. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're returning, I’m honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward recovery and emotional wellness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Jumpstart 2 Recovery, my process is intentional, personalized, and rooted in trust and collaboration. We begin with a free consultation and a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to get a clear picture of your history, current challenges, and goals. From there, we co-create a treatment plan that’s tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and values. Our work typically blends evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Brainspotting, depending on what best supports your growth. In early sessions, we’ll focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and increasing your self-awareness. I’ll help you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while also equipping you with tools to manage emotions, build healthier habits, and improve relationships. We’ll track your progress over time, making adjustments to the plan as needed. Whether you're navigating recovery, trauma, depression, anxiety, or relationship issues, I’ll support you with practical strategies and honest, compassionate feedback. Sessions are structured but flexible—I meet you where you are each week while keeping your long-term goals in focus. My role is to support, guide, and challenge you as you move toward the life you want.
