Getting to know Alexandra Dash

I offer a compassionate and collaborative approach focused on helping you navigate the challenges, feelings, or experiences that have brought you to therapy and your journey forward. I believe in the power of empathy and understanding, creating a safe healing space where clients feel heard, understood, valued, accepted, and supported-a space where you can share and explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. A strength of mine is the ability to meet a client where they are, utilizing a collaborative approach to identifying and developing goals and effective strategies for meeting those goals. I have additional training and focused experience working with survivors of domestic violence and military veterans healing from Post Traumatic Stress and moral injury. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University in the City of New York.

What should a new client know about working with you?

"In the beginning, we will start with building rapport while exploring what brings you to therapy, your concerns and goals, collaboratively developing a plan for our time together. Often sessions might include elements of supportive talk therapy and/or evidence-based practices (such as CBT, DBT or ACT), psychoeducation, goal setting, and learning about mindfulness and/or coping strategies. My goal is that for each session you will gain a better understanding of yourself and identified concerns, learn practical tools and skills, and feel empowered to take ownership of your healing journey and life. More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
