Alexandra Fryman, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Alexandra! My name is Alexandra Jimenea, LMFT. My professional but laid-back approach during initial sessions helps clients—whether new to therapy or experienced—feel they are meeting someone who provides the safe space they need to talk about the things in life that get in the way of living their best lives. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University, which laid the foundation for my client-centered approach. My approach I work with an open mind, tailoring my theoretical approaches to the unique needs of each individual. While my favorite modalities are dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and internal family systems (IFS), I also draw from other approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy when necessary. My focus I typically work with individuals ranging from young adults to elder adults. I am especially comfortable supporting young adults navigating college life or early career challenges. I enjoy working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community who seek a cognizant therapist they can trust while facing challenges unique to their experience. I am also attentive to and supportive of individuals exploring or transitioning to unconventional romantic relationship dynamics such as polyamory and ethical non-monogamy (ENM). My communication style As mentioned, I intentionally bring a professional yet laid-back tone to therapy. Starting with a new clinician can feel intimidating, so I strive to create a first impression that feels safe and warm. You might notice in my email address that I call myself a "punk rock therapist." This isn’t just a nod to the music genre or aesthetic—punk rock culture values individuality and authenticity, which are central to the therapeutic journey I offer.
