Alexandra Miller, LPC

Alexandra Miller, LPC

Psychotherapist
OR
Hi, my name is Alexandra but I go by Xan, only my mother ever called me Alexandra regularly. It’s been a long road through a varied landscape on the way to being a counselor; I have an associate degree in art, a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in counseling and I use something from all that every day. I use primarily cognitive behavioral, person-centered and mindfulness ideas, I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have a special interest in trauma and the effects lifestyle choices, especially nutrition and spirituality, have on mental health. As a licensed therapist in Oregon, Virginia and Florida I follow a code of ethics which guides my actions and requires me to continue learning about the field. Some of the other forms of therapy I incorporate are CBT-I for insomnia, Narrative therapy and Internal Family Systems, also called parts work, and I incorporate a lot from the 12 step programs. I work with adults of all ages. I have a motto, “More Joy." I like to think that I know a lot about people in general, I believe that you are the expert on yourself and I hope we can work together to bring more joy into your life and into the world.
