Psychotherapist

Life presents many circumstances that can be difficult for any person to navigate on their own. We aren't born with the emotional regulation or coping skills needed to manage the complexities of this fast-paced, high-pressure society. Some days we may be consumed with negative thoughts that hinder us from being who we want to be. Some days we are flooded with big emotions that are hard to control and seem to overpower us. Some days we experience worries so overwhelming that it's hard to function. I offer a safe, therapeutic space for children, adolescents, and young adults to connect with their inner selves and develop tools to help them through life's challenges. For parents, I provide support and resources. For clients seeking neurological explanations for their symptoms and services to optimize brain function, I offer EEG-guided neurofeedback. I hold a Master's in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston, which inform my compassionate and evidence-based approach to care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I help clients develop a deeper connection with their bodies, enabling them to better understand physiological responses to intense emotions and situations. By exploring how the brain and body work in harmony to navigate life’s complexities, we empower ourselves to make more intentional and confident decisions. My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy to address the mind and polyvagal theory-informed techniques to engage the body. Together, these methods provide a comprehensive path to growth and success in overcoming life’s obstacles.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with a 50-minute consultation to create a personalized treatment plan. For younger children, consultations may initially involve only the parent(s) before therapy with the child begins. For those interested in exploring the neurological underpinnings of symptoms, we offer a one-hour EEG session. This comprehensive EEG package includes two reports from neurologists, qEEG brain maps, clinical brain maps, and a one-hour feedback session to review the findings in detail. If neurofeedback is recommended, sessions are typically scheduled at least twice a week to align with industry standards. On average, around 40 neurofeedback sessions are needed to achieve optimal results.
