You may look like you have it together on the outside, but actually feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. I help individuals better understand themselves, discover ways to cope and create meaningful, lasting change. I work with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns like people-pleasing and overthinking. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients have trauma histories, caregiving roles, or chronic illness and are seeking deeper insight. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Many people come to therapy simply feeling stressed, on edge or misunderstood. Through therapy, you'll gain tools to manage overwhelming feelings, improve relationships and break patterns negatively impacting your life.

Getting to know Alexandra Thomson

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is insight-oriented, trauma-informed, and collaborative, with practical coping skills woven in. I tailor therapy to each person and aim to create a calm, non-judgmental space where you can feel understood, and supported. I love working with clients who are curious about themselves and open to exploring patterns with honesty and care. Many are navigating anxiety, people-pleasing, or emotional overwhelm, often in the context of caregiving, chronic illness, or past trauma. I believe therapy works best when it feels thoughtful, supportive, and collaborative. I value creating a space where you can slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself without pressure or judgment. Together, we work toward feeling more grounded, setting healthier boundaries, and relating to yourself with greater clarity and self-compassion.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, supportive working relationship. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you've already tried and what you're hoping to gain. We'll move at a pace that feels respectful and manageable. There's no pressure to share everything at one. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, grounded and with a clearer sense of what our work together could look like.
