*Please be advised that I do not accept insurance for couples counseling; couples counseling sessions are private pay only.* My name is Alexandra (Alex) Treat, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Utica, Michigan. I believe growth is a deeply personal journey that unfolds at its own pace, and I bring compassion and patience to support that process. It’s an honor to view the world through your lens as we navigate life’s complexities together. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where self-discovery and personal growth can thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm passionate about working with individuals ages 14 and up as well as couples, and I support a wide range of concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, postpartum challenges, infertility support, complex PTSD, relationship issues, parenting, LGBTQIA+ support, and life transitions. I take a sex-positive, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodivergent-affirming approach to therapy. I truly believe people make the biggest strides in healing when they have someone they trust to help them sort through their experiences and emotions. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Humanistic Therapy in my practice; however, I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual client. I believe that counseling is not a 'one size fits all' process, and I work collaboratively with clients to determine which therapeutic methods are most effective for their personal growth and healing.
