What should a new client know about working with you?

My path toward therapy started with the pursuit of a marine biology degree. After taking a break from school, I realized I wanted to change my path to one that allowed me to help others through social work. While exploring gender-affirming and queer resources, I recognized that there weren’t many available locally, and I wanted to change that. As a Mexican/queer person, my desire is to give back to my community, and I approach patients with this mindset, treating them exactly as I would like to be treated.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that you, as the patient, are the expert on yourself. This belief allows me to be a better team player in your healing journey, creating an affirming and safe environment free from judgment. I utilize a range of skills and approaches to help you throughout treatment based on your own experiences and symptoms, with therapies that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, exposure therapies, and integrative work.
