Psychotherapist
929 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL
Alexandria Scodius is a pre-licensed provider working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Therapy is a space where you can show up as your full self: messy parts, tender parts, hopeful parts, and everything in between. I hold the belief in meeting clients where they are, both emotionally and practically. Viewing each session with a stance of cultural humility is central to my approach; I recognize that each person carries intersecting identities and lived experiences that shape the way they move through the world. I strive to create an affirming space where clients of all identities and backgrounds feel respected, understood, and empowered. Clinically, my work is grounded in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) and informed by approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Structural Family Therapy (SFT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also integrate mindfulness and other practices in ways that align with each client’s unique goals. I have experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, couples, and families navigating stress, conflict, communication, identity development, life transitions, and the everyday experiences that come with being human.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I view therapy as a deeply collaborative process, a place to slow down and turn toward the parts of life that feel heavy or hard to articulate. My intention is to create a space where your full self is welcome, and where each part of you is met with curiosity, tenderness, and respect. With a warm and relational style, rooted in the belief that we all do the best we can with the stories, tools, and histories we’ve carried. Together, we’ll trace the patterns that may be holding you back while nurturing the strengths that have been there all along. My hope is that therapy becomes a soft place to land, a place where you feel supported, grounded, and increasingly able to imagine new possibilities. Not because everything is suddenly perfect, but because you no longer have to hold it all by yourself. I would be honored to support you as you discover what healing means for you.
